About 715 Digital
One guy in Eau Claire who builds websites like he sells houses: straight.
I'm Carter Barstad. By day, I'm a realtor here in Eau Claire. 715 Digital is the shop I started after I built my own website — carterbarstad.com — and realized how many good local businesses were getting found worse online than shops half as good as them.
My site wasn't built by an agency in another state. I built it here, on the same playbook I now sell: a fast site that reads plain, a Google profile finished all the way, reviews that actually get collected and answered, and somebody keeping it up month after month. It went live October 27, 2026, and it's the proof this works — go look at it the way a customer would.
Plain version first. Then the guts, for whoever wants them.
That standard didn't start with websites. Before real estate, I worked in auto repair sales. The techs would hand me the full technical breakdown — the real diagnosis, in their language — and my job was to translate it for the person across the counter, because I'd had the customer's own questions myself. Give them the plain version they can act on, then offer the detail to whoever wants it. It turns out websites work exactly the same way. Most owners don't need a lecture on search algorithms. They need to know what a customer sees, what it's costing them, and what happens next — in that order.
So that's the deal here. Published prices instead of "call for a quote." Your domain in your name from day one, instead of a site held hostage by a vendor. One person you know — me — instead of a ticket number at a company three time zones away. And copy on your site that sounds like a neighbor explaining something, because that's who wrote it.
Two promises, in writing. You hear back the same day you reach out — and during your build you get updates as the work happens: what got built, what changed, what's next. “We're working on it” is not an update. And this one, the part no agency puts on its own page: if the free teardown says your setup is already doing its job, I'll tell you. You keep the page, I keep my afternoon, and nobody buys something they don't need.
715 Digital serves owner-run businesses across the Chippewa Valley — the trades, auto shops, restaurants, inspectors, and services that actually built this place. Eau Claire logged a hundred years before it logged on. The businesses that did the logging deserve to be found on the new river too.
